WHAT IS IPREM IN SPAIN?

The IPREM (Indicador Público de Renta de Efectos Múltiples) is a quantitative index that is set annually by the Government  and is frequently used for the granting of grants, unemployment benefits, scholarships, acquisition of public housing and as an economic module to grant the benefits of free justice and public defender.

The IPREM is different and therefore should not be confused with the INTERPROFESSIONAL MINIMUM WAGE (SMI), which although it is also another quantitative index set by the Government and has different amounts from the IPREM.

For this year 2️022, the IPREM is 579,02 euro for a month.

The Golden Visa or Investor Visa is a plan that allows citizens outside the EU to obtain qualified residence permits in exchange for investing in Spanish real estate (and other assets), leading to permanent residence in Spain if certain conditions are met:

  • Real estate assets valued at 500,000 euros or more
  • Bank deposits of 1 million euros or more
  • Public debt of 2 million euros or more
  • Business projects in Spain considered of general interest
